Cover Quote: January 1963

With this issue, COMPUTING REVIEWS changes editorial management for the first time in its three-year history. The new editorial staff sincerely pays tribute to the splendid achievements of Professor John W. Carr III and Roger P. Hansen. Dr. Carr’s imaginative insight, organizational skills, and comprehensive knowledge created COMPUTING REVIEWS and, with the able assistance of Mr. Hansen, brought it from its earliest inception as a supplement of the COMMUNICATIONS OF THE ACM to its current substantial state.

We wish to thank the full staff of volunteer editors and the many faithful reviewers who have so generously contributed their time and thought to this venture.

COMPUTING REVIEWS has made giant strides and rendered an increasingly important service to the field under Dr. Carr and Mr. Hansen. The present staff is dedicated to COMPUTING REVIEWS’ high standards; and trusts that, with the continuing support of its associate editors, reviewers, and readers, the tradition of competent and complete service to the computing profession will be worthily maintained.
